One of my highlights from 2019 is definitely having met Maddie & having the honor of photographing her marriage to Isaac !
Now let’s go back to before I even met Maddie - at the beginning of 2019 I was in a very hard place with photography. I had just finished a busy fall season of family photos after having completely jumped into full-time photography and in the winter it slowed down significantly. The comparison trap was real & the future seemed so unknown. Randomly in February I got an email from Maddie — she does marketing for Barefoot Blonde Hair, a hair extension company by blogger Amber Fillerup. I had known of this company for many years & was completely taken aback when I got an email from Maddie asking about doing shoots for them. Our first shoot went so well that I was able to become their photographer & over a year later we still do shoots multiple times a month. Hands down the best part about working for BFB has been becoming good friends with Maddie — & also watching her fall in love.
In the time that I have known Maddie she met Isaac, fell in love, & got married. I had the honor of documenting the proposal, their engagements in the desert, their bridals in Prescott, & their wedding in Gilbert. Everything about that season was beautiful — seeing everything play out + also getting to be there as her friend is something I will cherish forever.
We chose to go to the Superstition Mountains for their engagement photos. This Arizona desert landscape is one of my favorites: lots of cactus, mountain views, and small rolling hills. We got lucky with one of the most beautiful sunsets during the engagement session! Forever thankful for Maddie’s friendship, working with her, & having documented this season in her life.
