Karen & Todd | Arizona Elopement

I knew one of the first stories I would want to share would be about Karen + Todd — how they made their marriage official in Bisbee & then celebrated with friends + family in a historic Tucson home. Everything about the marriage & celebration of Karen + Todd was so incredibly lovely.

Karen + Todd wanted to elope down in Tombstone/Bisbee area with just her parents, a friend, an officiant, & I as their witnesses. Karen wore the most beautiful simple white dress with yellow vegan boots & Todd wore Karen’s grandfather’s suit. They married in a courthouse in Tombstone, ate cake + drank Champagne at a stunning Aribnb in Bisbee, & then they shared their first dance at a local bar.

I loved that the time I got with Karen + Todd wasn’t done after Bisbee. They planned a celebration with close family + friends back in Tucson on a later date. I met them at one of the most beautiful historic homes in Tucson. I absolutely love historic homes, especially in the Barrio neighborhood in Tucson, so this was a dream to photograph. Karen + Todd had a ceremony so their friends + family could hear them say their vows + exchange rings. I loved that they chose to do so in the hallway. It was very intimate, which made the moment even more impactful. Some of my favorite images from this day are of Todd reading his vows to Karen with their people in the background while the sun was shining through the door — these magical moments make me speechless. The rest of the night was spent eating the best vegan food I have ever had, toasting the bride + groom, & Todd serenading Karen. Karen + Todd — thank you for being so welcoming, taking me along this journey with you, & trusting me to document it all.

It’s no secret that weddings have been greatly impacted lately, which is why this elopement was one I was so excited to share. I hope this brings inspiration to a bride that is having to plan a smaller wedding or feels pressure to go against what she has visioned or wants to elope but isn’t sure how. If that’s you don’t be afraid to reach out — I would love to hear about what your dreams are or what you may want to do instead so that you can marry your person.
