Welcome to one of my first blog posts on my new website !! If you are reading this — thank you ! The fact that you are taking time out of your day to see what I have created means so much to me. I have put a lot of thought, passion, years of work, & love into this website and am so excited to be sharing it with you.
I wanted to share this studio session because it’s one of my favorites — & because it’s hot outside. I had a shoot today & it was well over one hundred degrees by the time we were finished. Photographing in a studio has become one of my favorite places to photograph people. There is something about the incredibly simple backdrop that allows the focus to be completely on the couple. I asked Andi + her boyfriend Trevor to model for me so that I could get creative & experiment shooting in a studio again — I loved mixing the white + black backdrops, playing with slower shutter speed, & switching up how I directed my couple.
When I was a sophomore in college I landed a job working at a studio to photograph senior portraits — it was a weird job, lot of props, & everything was veryyy posed, but I learned a lot. I love what studio sessions have become — I feel like there are no rules anymore. We did this couple session at Blok Studio in Downtown Phoenix. I also took my headshots in this studio with my friend Chloe ! It’s very versatile & it’s inspiring to see how other photographers use this space.
